The Northern Aboriginal Community Awards was founded in 2003 to recognize the achievements and contributions made by Aboriginal community members in northern Manitoba. The first awards ceremony was held in Thompson. It was quite successful and it showed all the parties involved that such an event was needed and very much appreciated.

The 2004, 2005 & 2006 awards ceremonies were held in The Pas so as to better include the surrounding communities in our northern region.  Both events were, once again, quite successful & showed that The Pas was a good choice to host the event.

As in previous years, the 2007 awards ceremony was also held in The Pas, seeing seven northern aboriginal community achievers receive recognition for their hard work & dedication.  With the need for a larger venue for the awards banquet, the Métis Hall was a great choice. Large enough to accommodate our ever growing audience & achievers.  With great food, great entertainment and great company this event was a huge success!

Again being held in The Pas, we are looking forward to the 6th Annual Northern Aboriginal Festival & Community Awards taking place October 21, 22 & 23, 2008.  As the festival draws near, keep checking back for festival updates & announcements.  Any suggestions are welcome, just email any one of our committee members.
